Bobcat Barstool is the Athens-based direct affiliate of Barstool Sports. Its primary audience is made up of Ohio University students and alumni. The Twitter account has over 13,000 followers and the Instagram account has over 30,000 followers. The accounts post multiple times a week and mostly feature video submissions.
Experience
Our campus Barstool account was mainly known for posting videos submitted by its followers. I was recruited by the Barstool viceroy that ran the account to create higher quality videos for the account.
I created multiple videos throughout the semester to be used on both the Instagram and Twitter accounts
Fest Season promotional video received 20,000 views on Twitter and 32,000 views on Instagram
At the time it was posted, Twitter videos averaged 2,000 to 10,000 views and Instagram videos averaged 5,000 to 15,000
Twitter post was retweeted 265 times and favorited 827 times, the most ever on the account
Instagram post had over 100+ comments and was shared to over 2,000 stories. At the time most posts had 1-10 comments and were usually shared to 200-500 stories on average.
Barstool Party Reel video received 17,000 views on Twitter and 25,000 views on Instagram
Twitter post was retweeted 204 times and shared to over 1,500 Instagram stories
First video I made, the Welcome Weekend 2018 reel received 4,500 views on Twitter and 8,000 views on Instagram
The video was the most engaged posts on both platforms at the time it was posted
The Twitter account grew from 8,000 followers to over 13,000 during my time creating content for the account. The Instagram grew from 20,000 to over 33,000. Each time a video was posted, both platforms would see a significant increase in followers for the following week as the content was retweeted/shared.
